  1. "Get URL" BBEdit/EasyView Extension

  5. This extension comes in two flavors for the Internet fans.
  6.  
  7. One extension calls Anarchie to get a file or directory 
  8. listing from within BBEdit and Easy View.
  9.  
  10. Just place the insertion point on any URL that begins with
  11. "ftp:" and choose the extension from the menu. As a bonus,
  12. Anarchie will fetch directly from an Info-Mac mirror, when
  13. the insertion point is on a file name that begins with
  14. "/info-mac/", another good reason to read the digests with
  15. Easy View.

  17. If you need part of the URL, just select it first. Be sure
  18. your selection contains "ftp:.../" (The final slash is
  19. needed for a directory listing)

  21. The other extension does the same with MacWeb. Any URL that 
  22. begins with "http:", "ftp:", or "gopher:" will be opened.
  23.  
  24. The latter has several shortcomings:
  25. * MacWeb must be open when it is called
  26. * A new window is opened for each call
  27. * MacWeb remains in the background
