- "Get URL" BBEdit/EasyView Extension
- -----------------------------------
- Version 1.1 of September 94
-
- This extension comes in two flavors for the Internet fans.
-
- One extension calls Anarchie to get a file or directory
- listing from within BBEdit and Easy View.
-
- Just place the insertion point on any URL that begins with
- "ftp:" and choose the extension from the menu. As a bonus,
- Anarchie will fetch directly from an Info-Mac mirror, when
- the insertion point is on a file name that begins with
- "/info-mac/", another good reason to read the digests with
- Easy View.
-
- If you need part of the URL, just select it first. Be sure
- your selection contains "ftp:.../" (The final slash is
- needed for a directory listing)
-
- The other extension does the same with MacWeb. Any URL that
- begins with "http:", "ftp:", or "gopher:" will be opened.
-
- The latter has several shortcomings:
- * MacWeb must be open when it is called
- * A new window is opened for each call
- * MacWeb remains in the background
-
- Thanks to:
- Adam Engst, Peter Lewis, John Norstad, and John Hardin.
